Trophy fishing ling!
If you are interested in ling trophy fishing then Dolmsundet Marina is a perfect starting point. We are located near several great ling fishing grounds close to Dolmøya and Frøya. Some of the largest lings have been caught in this area. We now offer ling trophy fishing with English and Russian speaking guides.
As you can see in the photo above our young guest Alexey Kaskrasnopyrov caught a huge ling at 26 kg east of Dolmøya ca. 20 minutes by boat from Dolmsundet Marina. Last summer in July, a local Willy Eidsvåg caught a giant ling at 55 kg on the long-line in the same area. The ling was hooked at 70 meters depth, which is unusual since the ling is a deep sea species that usually travels at 50-250 meters depth. Eidsvåg’s ling weighed in at 55.5 kg and measured 180 cm long.
The world largest ling caught by rod was taken by fishing guide Wolfgang Götz from Germany at Kvenvær in April last year. The giant ling weighed 47 kg. He pulled up the huge ling from 152 meters depth, somewhere between Kvenvær and Titran. The ling was 1.82 meters long and 94 cm around the abdomen. It weighed 46.7 kg, so it’s a new world record, as the old world record was 40.1 kg. The old official world record was held by Shetland in 2002, while a ling at 41 kg and 173 cm was caught by a German fishing tourists Ralf Basser close to Frøya which was held as the Norwegian rod record until now.
